DUPLICATE VOTER ID

A voter card is an important document issued by the Govt to all eligible citizens. A person having this document is entitled to participate in the Election process and elect their representative at Regional, State and National level.

This card can be used throughout the life time to participate in election process. 

In the event of the card is misplaced, lost or become unusable you can apply for a duplicate one. 

Duplicate card can be applied in case of
  1.  Lost or misplaced
  2.  Theft of Card
  3.  Mutilated or become unusable 
HOW TO APPLY FOR A DUPLICATE CARD - GUIDELINES

Offline Process :
  • Visit the nearest Electoral Registration Office of the place of your residence and obtain  Duplicate Voter ID card application is also called as EPIC-002 or download the form from CEO website
  • Fill in all the details in the application form with all the relevant information
  • Attach the required documents to the application and submit to the Electoral Office
  • On submitting the application you will get an acknowledgement reference Number for future reference and for tracking your application status.
  • On successful verification by the Electoral Officer you will be issued Duplicate Voter ID Card
  • Once processed and ready for delivery collect the card in person by visiting the  the electoral office

The documents to be submitted along with EPIC-002

  1. FIR registered with local Police Station
  2. Proof of Address
  3. Proof of Identity
  4. Passport size colour photograph
You can also apply online by visiting the CEO website of your State/Union Territory.

Application for Correction to particulars entered in Electoral Roll - FORM 8

If you find any mistakes in your EPIC( Elector's Photo Identity Card) also called as Voter Id, apply for corrections to avoid last minute embarrassment when you go to the polling booth to vote. 

Step by step guidelines for applying to make corrections to the particulars entered in Electoral Roll
                      Fields marked with " * " symbol are  mandatory

Go to the official web portal https://nvsp.in 


> Click on Form 8


> Select State                                                   ( Select from the drop-down list )

> Select District                                                ( Select from drop-down List)
> Select Assembly/Parliamentary Constituency    ( select from drop-down list)

Then enter Applicant's details
1. Name *  In English      ( Name automatically appears in regional Language 
                                        Use the provided Keyboard on the right side to enter
                                        name correctly )

2. Surname  in English    ( same as above)

3. Details of registration with electoral roll 
Name of Assembly/ Parliamentary Constituency :

   Enter Part No of Electoral Roll*:                          This is the polling booth No *
   Serial No of Electoral Roll*:                                   Serial No against your Name in ER

4. Elector's photo identity card No : *                     7 Digit Card No prefixed by 3 letters

5. Please Tick the entry which is to be corrected. put a _/ mark in the appropriate box
    ** Tick the appropriate box; about 9 checkboxes should be on the form

6. Enter the correct particulars in the entry to be corrected.

Whichever box you have ticked above that particular column  only will be allowed to fill the details

7. Enter E-mail id       :

8. Enter mobile No     :

The declaration Portion

   Fill the place of submission of Application.    Date of application  will automatically appear

   Enter CAPTCHA

   And press the SUBMIT button.

Note:
1. Before submitting the application verify once again the correctness of the details entered 

2. After submission of Application online take a print out and submit to the ERO of your jurisdiction along with supporting documents for which you seek corrections.

3.  Obtain  Acknowledge for having submitted the physical application along with copies of proof of documents

Important: Please do not provide any incorrect/false information . It is punishable under Section 31 of the People's Representation Act 1950 if the information provided is found to be incorrect or false

How to apply online for inclusion of name in electoral rolls
Step by step guidelines
Before filling in the application scan your passport  passport size photograph and visa in jpg/jpmg/bmp format and save it to desktop 
Go to official web site https:eci.gov.in
  • Click on "enroll as a NRI Voter"
  • Select language (you can chose English or any other language which is available. If you are familiar with regional language key board use it  else opt for English
  • Provide address abroad as appears in passport 
  • Enter passport information 
  • Enter Visa details 
  • Mention reasons for staying abroad
  • Upload photograph
  • Upload passport 
  • Fill all the columns in the application accurately and legibly 
  • Press ' submit  ' button
Before submitting go through the application carefully for any modifications/editing.
    Acknowledgement number will be displayed. Note down the acknowledgement number for for future reference and checking the status of your application
